Please keep Phil Mickelson's wife in your thoughts and prayers

After undergoing an extensive battery of tests Phil Mickelsons’s wife, Amy, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The couple married in 1996 and has three children aged 9, 7 and 6.
More tests are scheduled but the treatment process is expected to begin with major surgery, possibly within the next two weeks.

Today all the PGA golfers were wearing pink shirts to support Amy in this battle. What a thoughtful gesture.

Your age by Golf math

YOUR AGE BY GOLF MATH
First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to play golf (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 ... If you haven't, add 1758.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born. You should have a three digit number The first digit of this was your original number (I.e., how many times you want to play golf each week).

The next two numbers are YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS

Bobby Jones pictured with his legendary rivals Walter Hagen and Gene Sarazen. These three men dominated world golf from 1914 through the mid-1930s. Together capturing 31 major championships. Also pictured is Johnny Farrell who defeated Bobby Jones at the 1928 U.S. Open.

Bobby Jones is pictured chatting with Masters champion Ben Hogan and his old rival Gene Sarazen. Once when speaking of Ben Hogan's game, Jones stated, "I thought I was a hard fighter. I thought Hagen and Sarazen were. We're not in a class with this fellow, Hogan. When he has a ninety-yard shot to play he expects to hole it."

Favorite Golf Pictures

Here are some of my favorite pics...

All these pics are at St. Andrews Golf links in Scotland, the home of Golf.

Bobby Jones, the only golfer to ever win the Grand Slam (all 4 majors in the same year) back in 1930. No other golfer has done that to this day!

Teeing off at Hole 18... could you imagine having all those people surrounding you while teeing off??

Young Bobby Jones with British Open champion Harry Vardon. Golfers of different generations. Comparable to Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.

I love this pic. You can see in the background, Harry Vardon on the right of the 4 men standing there. Teeing off at Hole 1.

Here are just a few of my favorite holes.

St. Andrews, hole 18 with the famous Swilken bridge. I can't even imagine how many famous players have walked over that bridge. I think all the way back to Tom Morris, Young Tom Morris, all the way through to Harry Vardon, Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, etc. Someday I will be able to see it in person!

Cour de Alene, Idaho- floating green. You have to take a boat out to finish the hole!

Hole 18 at Harbor Town

Hole 17 at TPC Sawgrass

Hole 12 at The Masters in Augusta Georgia.

Fairway Village

7:18am tee time. The sun was just peeking over the trees. The morning dew was still covering the fairway like a blanket. There was the smell of fresh grass and a promising round of golf ahead.

What a great round it ended up being. I've been on a really good streak lately, and it is amazing what confidence can do for your game. I was only +3 at hole 7. Then hole 7 eat me up, ending the hole with another +3, leaving me +6 at hole 8. But I parred 8 and bogeyed 9, leaving me with a 41 on a par 34.

Matt ended his round with a monster drive, just 10 yards short of the green, on a par 4! He walked away with a birdie. Matt, you did great, having not played for a year!

Ended the round at hole 19, at Sherries restaurant.

Until next time...

God Bless.

Jared

Back in action!

Hey everyone out there, this blog is back in service! Here to update you with my latest golf adventures.

It's been 4 years now, played a lot of golf! All over the place, including a 3 day trip to Sunriver, Or last september. Plan on going again this year.

Ethan, my son, has been really into Golf lately. I have been taking him to the driving range alot, and he has gone out with me on the actual golf course several times now. He is starting to see the big picture now, and seems to be more in love with this game.

Played Stone Creek last friday. Got in about 24 holes on the twilight deal. Then left there at 8:45 headed straight to Long Beach, WA where Misty and the Kids were. Played another 9 holes there the next day. That was Misty's first time going out with me. Ethan came also, he did wonderful!

Me and my brother Jason went to Green Mountain on monday, played 18 holes with a cart for free, courtesy of a tournament I played in last August for the Portland Pentecostal Church.

I shot about an 88 or so, did really good. Jason did pretty good for it being his first time out for about a year.

Hitting my driver pretty good at the moment.

We'll see where we end up next time. Stay tuned for more golf trips.
